A review of The Cambridge Building Society by Kingpin written on Monday 13th of September 2004
I was with a bank recently, that will remain nameless, but they totally ripped me off. I had an entry on my statement which read I had made a withdrawal of £200 on a certain day. It turns out on this day I was in hospital having treatment and couldn’t possibly have made this withdrawal. The bank refused to enter into negotiation over it. Needless to say I cut my losses and quit at that bank.
I am now with Cambridge building society and they make no such mistakes. It seems much more friendly and personalised. The people dealing with you, know you. I am regularly frustrated with banks of size and how they treat you.
I recently sorted out an ISA to make use of my money. I didn’t have a clue about what the options were for saving and found the help I received from CBS to be invaluable in deciding what to do with my money. To be honest I thought it was all a con to get my money off me, I’m not that savvy with these things. Thankfully I know a lot more about ISA’s and high interest accounts now and the tax laws involved.
