"Has it's ups and downs, but mainly, its up there for a cambridge restaurant"

I've been to Teri-Aki many times and i must say it is very good. I've read the other reviews, and people complain that the food there doesnt taste like Japanese food. I have a few things to say to these people -

One: have you ever actually tasted proper japanese food in Japan?

Two: we're not in Japan, so dont expect 100% authentic japanese "tasing and smelling" food

Three: how japanese food tastes (especially noodles) differs depending on which region you're in. Miso flavour in the north, soya sauce flavour in Okaido, slightly-salty-pork in the south. And even in each region there are varieties.

Although sometimes service can be a bit disappointing, that would probably be because they are jam packed. Go there when its less busy (before 6 or 7 o'clock) and you'll have very good service. IMHO, its still very good when they're busy.

I've been there probably too many times now as the food is getting a bit boring, but you cant expect them to change the menu and give you something original every time.

If you dont like noodles, there are rice dishes on plates or in bento boxes. there are also side dishes and sushi.

Having been to pretty much all the restaurants in cambridge, this is a very good one. I've tried Dojo and Yippe many times too before Teri Aki opened, and i still go there sometimes too, but although the food can be cheaper, that just shows that they're using pre-made frozen goods. some may like the way it tastes, but thats cuz its had loads of additives and flavourings added. Also, where else in cambridge or cambridgeshire are you going to get excellent freshly-made sushi?

All in all, i recommend everyone at least goes to Teri Aki at least two or three times to try all the different dishes they offer before making a final opinion..
