A review of The Castle Inn by Chris H written on Saturday 31st of July 2004
It's not that often I get to go out drinking, these days, but when I do, it's usually at the Castle. Why? Well, these days they have Kronenborg and Stella on tap, as well as more run-of-the-mill lagers, in addition to their wide selections of real ales. You'll be very unlucky if you get served with a bad pint here but, judging by the rare occasions it has happened to me, if it does happen the drink will be changed without any argument. The bar staff aren't exactly gushing in their welcome, but are extremely professional, and at least know who has been waiting, and for how long, which is even more welcome in a pub this popular.
This isn't my nearest pub, but is the place I drink out of preference. That must say something about the place....
