"Why 2 maplin stores?"

Now they have put 2 maplin stores in our wonderfull city and I ask myself the question... "why do we need yet another maplin?"

I have been a customer of the St. Andrews street store for some time now and the staff in this shop are wonderfull people and very helpfull, and I know they do their best for us customers. I would also like to note that many people I know love this small shop and are amazed at how many different things they can keep in such a small place. Its a wonder they dont get lost in there. Most of the staff in this shop are very knowledgeable and I trust what they tell me. Good store I say.

When the new store opened in the Beehive, I thought it was a great idea, free parking for one. I didn't go in on the opening day as i knew it would be far too busy. So i made my way in in the following weeks. When I walked in I was greeted by many blue shirts, although I was the only customer to be in the store, no one seemed to be able to answer my questions and many of the staff just "passed the buck" to another. When I finaly got some answers, the guy I was talking to seemed so unsure about what he was saying, that i gave up and walked out.

I have been in there a few more times since then but to me it seems a waste of their time being there as no one seems to know much about anything (apart from a lad called Gary, I think) and most of them stand round the tills for a chat. They probably pay more for the staff to be there than they make in money. Cambridge was fine with one store in it, why put another? I will always go to the St. Andrews branch as I will always get the service and honesty I've been getting since I first shopped at this store.

It would be a shame if they shut this store down, a damn shame.
