A review of Tammy by Mel written on Wednesday 7th of July 2004
Why can't everyone just STOP with the 'Tammy is so fake no real grunger would shop there' or whatever? For one thing, I’ve seen over 20 reviews like that saying the exact same thing, at least try to argue a different point or don't argue at all. And besides, Tammy don't market themselves as anything more than a shop selling the latest fashions for young girls, and, (surprise, surprise) that's exactly what they are! The latest fashion just so happens to be "punk" style kiddies clothes and so what?
I am, by no means, defending Tammy. Greedy, money grabbing industries cashing in on the newest craze aren't exactly my thing.
So they're giving punk a bad name, it's not going to last. That's the thing about fashion, it changes. You're all getting so worked up about something as unimportant as contemporary trends and what the hell can you do about it? I know that I don't really care for what other people wear, it's their choice, and if they like the clothes they buy, it's not my right to argue. Wasn't the whole point of punk/grunger or... whatever, supposed to be about individuality (not that these stupid categorized labels people use are helping that). I always thought it was about, y'know, wear what you want to wear, do what you want to do, be your own person? The majority of the people here are doing the exact opposite, judging people for what they wear and where they shop. It’s their business, leave them be. If you don’t like it there, stay away. God, it’s so bloody simple!
Not that there’s much point to this. I’ve seen a few reviews prior to this one that are genuinely well written and logical, trying to talk some sense into you people, but it apparently has not worked. I doubt this will make a difference..
