A review of Teri-Aki Restaurant & Bar by Nina written on Tuesday 22nd of June 2004
I discovered Teri-Aki last autumn and have been back seven times since. It is an absolutely wonderful place: relaxed atmosphere, friendly and fast service and great food. I'm afraid I love the bento lunchboxes so much that I always have one of those so I'm no guide to the variety although there is sushi and all sorts on the menu -- so it's much more diverse than a simple noodle bar. The bento comes with miso soup, delicious pickled somethings, gorgeous unagi-don (eel fried in sake and mirin), rice and vegetables. And I love eating out of something that's not a plate: an aesthetic delight.
We've taken all our out-of-town visitors there, and it's an absolute find for children.
We've taken children aged 4 to 10, and they've all loved the dumplings and the fried chicken wings. The large tables with benches and the spacious interior makes it entirely suitable as well, as it's not so cramped as other Cambridge venues. If there are only two of you, you can sit in another part of the restaurant in a more intimate setting.
I just absolutely love this restaurant. It is just the right mixture of relaxed and smart..
