A review of All Bar One by Florence written on Wednesday 5th of May 2004
My husband and I were looking forward to having a quick drink and as many restaurants with al fresco seating welcome dogs, we automatically assumed that our presence would be permitted. The puppy we brought with us is no larger than a Chihuahua and was contained in a special dog carrier. His presence would have been unseen and unheard. When we notified a member of your staff the company of our puppy, we were totally stunned by her abrupt refusal. Her reason simply being that All Bar One did not insure dogs. We found this completely nonsensical. Regulations actually imply that animals are not permitted in food preparation areas ‘only’. We can understand being refused indoors, but cannot accept this intolerance of dogs on your outdoor terrace. We later found that The Chop House was more than happy to accommodate us, which propels me to further question your ‘no dogs’ policy. .
