A review of Henrys Cafe Bar by Sam written on Tuesday 30th of November 1999
Four Years ago I would have recommended this bar, and went there frequently, enjoying it cameleon properties. However the standard has slipped dramatically and now I avoid it at all costs.
I went in recently to give it another chance, only to be served a very disappionting warm, flat Champagne cocktail, from a sullen bar man; and to sit at a dirty table on frayed seats.
Though not busy when we ordered our food, it still took well over 40 mins to arrive, and at best could be described as luke warm.
A word of warning too, don't assume that you can sit anywhere, they will soon move you should you want to eat and are not sitting in the right part of the bar (and visa versa with drinking).
With their prime quayside position, prehaps they think the view is sufficient to saticfy its customers, because that is the only good thing about this bar. If you are a visitor I would avoid it..
