"no hats! we're too posh!"

I found this place unbearingly pretentious! Just as I sat down a security guard came practically running towards me to ask me to remove my (new) furry hat! When I challenged him on my way out (where a group of about 6 of the long black coat brigade were stood) he said, rather patronisingly, "I think you'll find Madam, that a no hat policy is observed by most bars in cambridge".
