A review of Starbucks by christos written on Thursday 1st of January 2004
Starbucks is successful for many reasons, not least of which is the quality of the coffee. Wake up and smell the coffee, Cambridge, Starbucks makes the best cappuccino in the city.
That said, I've sometimes gotten a poorly-trained Barista(coffee-maker) at Starbucks that makes cappuccinos like lattes. Make note: a cappuccino is equal parts espresso and milk and the rest foam/froth. All it takes is a read of the Starbucks leaflets to know that. So Starbucks UK needs some quality control there.
For the most part though, you don't have to tell them to make your Cappuccino "dry" in order to get a properly made cup. For practically every other UK coffee house, that is my MO. If not told, they'll top the cup with milk and add a thin layer of froth. That's a Latte, people! I want to taste the espresso in my cappuccino please. If I wanted a cup of warm milk, I'd have ordered a latte.
And I agree with another reviewer, if you don't like the price, we're in a democracy....walk to the next coffee house down the road..
