"Obviously it isn't Grunge"

A review of Tammy by Annoyed written on Friday 31st of October 2003

Personally I dislike Tammy because the stuff there is ridiculous. Basically it is a shrine to Avril Lavigne, and the "brains" behind Tammy have cashed in on the recent "pop-punk" fashion. But all the people who are slamming people who shop in Tammy as wannabes, who are you kidding? Only a wannabe would be so concerned with what other people are wearing.

And secondly, can I just say that grungers are not moshers/skaters! Grunge was a movement in the early nineties with bands such as Soundgarden, Nirvana, Hole, Babes In Toyland etc. It mainly came from Seattle, and was a reaction to the "baby boomers" ( preps ) who were dependent on their parents. Because grungers opposed this, they wore ripped jeans, plaid, flannel shirts, etc, and bought clothes very cheaply. They did not wear baggy trousers, chains etc, and probably would have laughed hysterically at most of todays' moshers. So please, please stop calling "moshers" grungers!.
