A review of Bakers Oven by Annoyed Employee written on Sunday 26th of October 2003
I speak openly on behalf of Bakers Oven Workers everywhere. I am a weekend assistant for Bakers Oven North in Wakefield Busstation and I am confident in saying that we are sick of the grief!
We are underestimated, frowned upon and to be blunt have to put up with a lot of S***T! (pardon my language) I agree completely that some of the prices are a little over the top, but lets be honest, we do offer some of the best quality food avaliable from cafe's and confectioners, plus with operation BUD underway the majority of prices have been reduced dramatically and are now reasonably competitve.
Furthermore, I'm sure anyone who works for Bakers Oven can agree that theres a lot of fun to be had and friendships to be built with your fellow workers, and honestly after college all week I sometimes look forward to coming to work!
We do not, however, deserve to be treated how we are by particular customers, mainly "well to do" people and at the other end of the scale, the "unemployed". Admittedly sometimes our pasties may not be up to scratch, or there might be too much froth in our coffees, but at the end of the day we're only human, we can't be perfect all the time.
We try our damned hardest to please and customer ignorance is hardly motivating, yet we carry on smiling! So couch potoes and business buffs, you think you can do better? Put down the briefcases, peel yourselves off the sofas and GIVE US A BAKE!! No? didn't think so........ how about a thankyou next time then?
oh and by the way if I heard "I'm off to Gregs" one more time I'll scream, when will you people realise? WE'RE THE SAME COMPANY!! .
