A review of Tammy by Charly written on Monday 13th of October 2003
I think tammy is a wannabe shop.I must admit i used to like it but nowadays all they clothes seem to want to be punk style. The last time I went in I saw a bag saying goth princess and they had drawn on safety pins-possibly one of the most unoriginal things ever, and, if ure asking me, a total wannabe. I mean trying to be unique but then buying something that has been produced in mass quantities and sold nationwide is hardly individual.
Tops that say skater girl, hippy chick, byker girl etc are all following the same idea as the bag, your style should come across by the clothes you wear and how you wear them:maybe you've customised them? and essentially it shouldn't need to be written across your chest that you are a punk(or in a tammy-girls case wannabe-punk)to prove it.
And it gets worse, they are attempting to "customise" the clothes for you, however surely customising is a unique process-so how come each of the embroided patterns are identical? And, the embroidery reads "bad girl", like the "skater girl" logos its such a wannabe. Also, this is encouraging rude attitudes so young girls appear to have a sulky teenage look, hence the "attitude girl" tops.
Yet, still there is some good stuff, the simple, plain strap tops are great for summer and once every few months there is a pair of reasonable jeans and for plain black school trousers tammys the place to go, so why do they have to ruin it with their attempted fashion statements in the style of goths and punks?
oh well...... .
