A review of Aldi by Caz Winchester written on Wednesday 22nd of May 2013
I long awaited the arrival of the new Aldi store in Winchester Hants.
I have used many branches and I cannot complain about the food or staff in general. However I have been organising a fund raising event in aid of a cause to my 3year old Granddaughter.
I approached local businesses for any donation towards a raffle prize and 99% were very generous.
I approached the deputy manager Stuart who was very helpful but told this would have to be agreed by someone of a higher level and he would pass my details on. A week went by and I heard nothing. When doing my shopping in there I noticed the Manager who looked the part but brushed me aside as if I was nothing but an irritation and would not make eye contact, he said I vaguely remember seeing something about it! I left the store without my shopping very embarrassed. I have never done a charity event before and had had knock backs with some store who kindly explained that they cannot support every charity which I totally understand but wasn't made to feel bad for asking as this arrogant young man had made me feel. The charity event is to be held at a local public house to Aldi not somewhere miles away..
