A review of The Co-operative Pharmacy by Janet Newman written on Wednesday 27th of March 2013
A family member accesses this chemist fairly regularly. Her most recent experience (today) demonstrates (yet again) how very interested employees at the chemist are at delivering and ensuring ones medication is provided promptly etc. My 84 year old mother was awaiting an urgent script - on arrival at the chemist to collect they were informed the GP had not signed. Only at this point did the chemist attempt to contact the surgery to get a signature. The most regularly scenario is that the fax is unclear and blame is laid at the doorstep of the surgerg/fax understandable but no one seems to be pro-active to address and sort out this regular problem. My own experience was that I had to prompt the assistance to make contact with the surgery - surely this should have been the responsibility of the chemist. If faxes arrive and they are not legible why not pre-empt the situation and advise the surgery so they can resend or if a signature is missing again advise the surgery - not too hard to correct surely!!! Instead of leaving it too late so medication is delayed by another day. .
