A review of Aldi by Mary Hall Scotland. written on Monday 3rd of December 2012
We had not been to Aldi for a while so did not even notice the small metal plates high up the poles. We were outraged when a £40 demand came in stating we were over the 1 hour and 30 minutes. It said so long to pay then it goes up to £70 We travelled back to the shop, in bad weather (which is 8 miles away). At the back of the park on a fence there was an enormous sign in giant letters saying FREE PARKING and below it in small letter the bit about 1.5 hours only. So it was misleading. We will never shop in any Aldi again and will warn our friends and relatives. There has never been a problem getting a parking space so why would they suddenly need to have some private company manage it with threats. The irony is there are free car parks all over and one is directly across the road. We live 5 minutes walk to Lidl and shop there most days and parking is free..
