"Back pain relief after 20 years of suffering"

Dear Sir/Madam,

I have suffered from pain in my lower back and leg for more years than I care to remember and have been referred to a succession of Physiotherapists, both NHS and private, in that time. Although many of these practitioners tried very hard to treat my condition to find the root cause, no one could tell me exactly what treatment was needed.

I was convinced the pain originated either from a poorly administered epidural pain relief injection I had during the birth of my first child, or from a spinal abnormality that had been shown up on a CAT scan during one of my assessments.

As a very active person, I now became increasingly worried that I might never fully recover from the pain that was now having a terrible effect on my life. I became more and more unhappy eventually slipping into deep depression and this forced me to leave my job and was not fit to return to work for about two years.

Thankfully, I did eventually recover from both illnesses but recently, after period of eighteen years, the pain returned even more severely than before. I was treated by Becky at the Union Lane Clinic in Cambridge and she advised after diagnosis certain physical exercises I had to undertake at home. She was very clear in telling me I had stiff joints in my back (no one had ever managed to get anyway near to an explanation that made sense).

My condition is now much improved thanks to this wonderful therapist so I wish to convey my sincere thanks for her expert advice – she is indeed a super Physiotherapist who without whose help, I would be again facing the prospect of terrible uncertainty once again.
