A review of Chivers Hartley Ltd by Jemm written on Thursday 15th of November 2012
I too have used Ma Made Seville Orange thin Cut for some years now for our own use. But I found it a bit sweet. So instead of adding 4lb of sugar I only put in 2 and half lbs plus rind and juice of 2 large lemons (if rind is tough I place in a little water and soften in the microwave, then add to your ma made ready to cook. I slightly inrease water to just over 3/4 pt and cook as normal. Another way I added the rind and juice of small red grapefruit, reduce sugar as above - this makes it really tangy and enhances the seville oranges. You can't beat seville orange marmalade - sadly the season is so short, but have frozen oranges whole and works but is a bit messy once defrosted..
