I am very happy with my local Aldi store, the staff is friendly and helpful and the check outs are quick, as soon as a queue is forming they open up another till.

Aldi's range of products is not huge, but of a good average quality. I find most things there I need at a very good price. Once I had a query and it was dealt with quickly and efficiently. I had bought one of their kettles which had a 3 year guarantee. It developed a fault just before the guarantee had run out. I phoned a free number(in Germany)and stated my query. I had kept the receipt and had to produce it, but as they no longer had the same product to replace it, they reimbursed me by transferring the purchase price to my UK bank account. I was most impressed!

I can see that Aldi's staff work hard and fast and has to be flexible, but I don't think they 'exploit' their staff as indicated in your article..
