A review of Cambridgeshire Mencap by Jeremy Smith written on Sunday 29th of April 2012
Treats clients very well very much recommend clients going to Cambridgeshire Mencap, but does not always treat their own volunteers with kindness.
I would recommend that people do not try to volunteer at Cambridgeshire Mencap but only apply for full time or part time employment within the organisation. They offer excellent class room only based training for volunteers but do not offer support when you volunteer with the clients for the first time because they want unpaid workers to know as much as people who have done example 20 years experience on the first day. They do not always allow time for volunteers to grow. They sometimes give volunteers fulse hope of achieving their future goals of helping support people with disabilities.
The locations are very clean. The manuals are very very good but Cambridgeshire Mencaps does not always follow everything they say about volunteers in their manual.
I would be 100 percent certain that my child would be well cared for if they were in Mencap;s care, but I would not be 100 percent certain that my child if they were a volunter would be cared for as they have shown to some people I know little respect as volunteers.
100 percent good care for clients, members
but
not very good care towards some volunteers..
