A review of Kohinoor Indian Restaurant by Peter Milne written on Monday 2nd of January 2012
This is an excellent Indian Restaurant and fully reflects the traditional experience of going for a "Ruby". Sadly, with so many Indian restaurants turning to the trendy bistro style of modern dishes, it's wonderfully refreshing to find this place. From the moment you arrive, you're swept back to a time of flared trousers, flock wallpaper and plastic plants everywhere! My kids loved the experience (they thought the palm trees were real!) and my wife though the atmosphere was warm and friendly (which it is). The service is very good, the food excellent and the prices, whilst not from the 1970's, are still very good, and positively fantastic compared to the "posh" Indian Cuisine outlets. I would have given it 5 stars but sadly, its charming '70's style is also its downfall, as the toilets look as if they are from this period. However, overall, one of the best in Cambridge. Highly recommended and worth a visit just to experience the amazing suits worn by the owner!.
