A review of Marmaris by Jacqueline written on Wednesday 5th of October 2011
The report about the lady being duped by the waiter from the restaurant in icmeler is very sad. unfortunately most of the workers in icmeler, marmaris and similar holiday resorts are NOT actual Turkish men, they are usually migrant Kurd workers. This has been an ongoing problem throughout Turkey for as long as i can remember. But people really should not tar everyone with the same brush. Turkish and Kurdish are VERY different people. I know her post was from a while ago, but even now in 2011 things are very much the same with the migrant workers who promise women the earth but then take all their money. It has to be said though, if you have any sense at all you would not fall for these kind of tricks with someone you have just met on holiday. I am married to a Turkish man, whom i met in Ankara, he has never set foot in a holiday resort other than to holiday with me as a normal holiday maker and he cannot believe the way the migrant workers and sex mad holiday makers carry on! So as I say, do not mistake genuine Turkish people for unscrupulous migrant workers who are out for all they can take from naive women..
