I have posted elsewhere about the ridiculous (in my humble opinion as a customer with money to spend) and short-sighted lack of informed buyers employed by Premier Foods, so I completely agree with you.

However, only two days ago, I found a substitute product that has just appeared on Lakeland. I'm not on commission, but I personally know 8 people who have been searching high and low for lemon Mamade since it was discontinued. I even tried ordering some from America, but they wouldn't ship it back here!

STOP PRESS!!! Lakeland have literally just started to produce their own version of prepared lemons - very similar to the old Hartley's Mamade lemon marmalade mix - enough to make 6lbs per tin and only £2.99, so you couldn't really make it fresh for any less (unless you have a lemon tree).
