"Bring Back Hartley's Lemon Ma Made!!!!"

I agree - how absurd a decision to discontinue Hartley's Lemon Thin Cut Ma Made! Unfortunately a decision probably made on a whim with no market testing by some 20 year old buyer who has never tasted home-made preserves, or worse still; hates marmalade with such a passion that he can't envisage anyone else liking it!!

And all in a climate where retailers are seeing huge growth in the area of home-baking, home preserving and recipe books. Grow your own and allotments are now sexier and more popular than ever since the war. But no; Hartley's (Pedigree Foods incidentally, a mega corp) in their infinite wisdom have pulled defeat from the jaws of victory just in time to miss the upsurge in sales.

Ironically, a tin of this was actually cheaper than making my own with fresh lemons and possibly better quality! Come on Pedigree - do a Heinz Salad Cream, Birds Eye Arctic Roll, Cadbury's Wispa on us - bring back Hartley's Lemon Ma Made Thin Cut tins and make a lot of home preservers happy!

PS I even bought some from America online and paid the extortionate shipping, so the market is definitely there!!.
