A review of The Curry King by Caro Hetherington written on Friday 26th of March 2010
I eat regularly at the Curry King in Jordan's Yard. I enjoy Indian cuising but figure that the menu may have been tempered to British palate so I always ask advice on what to eat. This approach has resulted in regularly being offered things that are not on the menu and which are freshly prepared. Delectable dishes like the finely sliced okra that's just cooked through so it's slightly firm to give spring to the flavour; deliciously scattered with fresh coriander; king prawns prepared in a spiced sauce that gives depth of flavour but doesn't explode like a taste-grenade in your mouth. It's obvious to criticise a restaurant if you get sick but if the food is fresh and good, then it's worth saying so, too..
