A review of Maharaja by Anonymous written on Monday 25th of January 2010
Our experience with this place was not a particularly pleasant one. We were seated next to the toilet door in a very confined space. People constantly walking past us into the toilet wafting toilet air to our table. Nice.
The staff all appeared unfriendly. Drinks were served wrong.
Food was very oily and overly salty, not much flavour. Reminded me of dodgey curries you get from run down takeaways. The reviewer that said "Too much oil not enough taste!!" is spot on. To be fair, the meat was nicely cooked and the lamb was very tender.
Not too expensive but certainly not cheap either. Was not impressed with the service so didn't want to pay the full 10% service charge, but the waiter made us pay the full 10%. First time I've heard of/been in such a place. Definitely not going back!
Tandoori Palace just up the road near Aldi is much better with quality food, less expensive and the staffs there are much friendlier. Try there instead..
