"Reply to Checkout girl."

I am a customer of B&Q's and sympathise with the way checkout girl has been spoken to and treated by - in the main - men. I can sympathise as I too work in a large retail outlet and have the exact same problems with our customers. However, only last weekend we went to B&Q to buy some 'doors', it was not clear from the signage on the shelf weather or not it matched the door below and as the door was void of its packaging we couldn't match it to a sign. As it was a busy weekend we could not find a member of staff to help us, so I went to the customer service desk and explained to a young girl that we needed some help, and probably a man who would be able to lift the doors. Ignoring this she came to have a look and promptly said she needed 'to get a man to lift the doors' and went of to look for one.....5-10 mins later she had not returned! On my way to look for her I met a male member of staff and grabbed him instead, he looked at the doors hummed and arghhed a while then said he needed a to find a manager and ask weather he could sell the door in question without its packaging, and off he went ...... and guess what he too did a disapearing act on us!! Finally we found a third person who was thankfully very helpful and resolved the problem for us, I managed to speak to a manager and explained that we were not very impressed and surely if a member of staff is unable to help it is better to just say so rather than leave a customer waiting, but other than sorry what could he do? So whilst I sympathise with you all, sometimes it is brought on by yourselves..
