A review of Marks & Spencer by Tracey Johnson written on Saturday 24th of October 2009
I've just shopped at M and S in Cleveleys (nr Blackpool) today. As there were no other spaces I parked in a disabled space. I have Multiple Sclerosis. As I can walk 100 yards I am not eligible for a disabled badge. The nearest car park meant a walk I could not manage because I have vertigo and an issue with continence.
I was in the store for less than 15 minutes, buying a plant and some cakes. When I got to my car and found the ticket I went back to the store and explained why I had parked where I had. The deputy manager had issued the ticket for £70. She refused to cancel it (though M & S Head Office have told me she did have the authority to do so, had she wanted to).
Yes, its my fault I parked there. No, I won't shop there again, but really, &70 for 15 minutes? Outrageous!.
