We (self, wife and children) have been going to Efes for many years on average 2 or 3 times a year. The high quality of the meat and freshness of the salads and the welcome make us go back and back. It is a tight fit but that adds to the atmosphere and there is always a very broad cross-section of diners from students, visiting tourists of all ages, and all types of Cambridge people, the latter often regulars. A group of us went there around Christmas time one year but they were full - the proprietor invited us to go to the nearby excellent pub and came and fetched us when he had a table! Have tried other similar looking Turkish establishments all over the UK and although some are smarter and many rougher, none have touched it for the quality of the food..
