"Booked. Then read the reviews. Went anyway. Big mistake."

We booked a table for 3 but we were actually 4 when we turned up. I knew things would not turn out well when the waiter told us off for not letting him know. But if you have a table for 3, fitting in an extra person is not usually a problem and surely one extra person is a bonus not a source of annoyance.

The waiter waved towards a horribly cramped table by the bar and grudgingly said we could have that. I didn't see how we could fit in so we decided to leave. He just shrugged and turned away, confirming everything other reviews had said about Al Casbah having the rudest staff imaginable.

So we moved on to Shiraz in Regent Street. The food was very good and the staff delightful. Go there instead..
