A review of Saffron Brasserie by Pritesh written on Sunday 22nd of February 2009
The review on this restuarant was good so we decided to try it.This was a mistake!!! The food was awful. Some highlights include:
Having to ask on three separate occasions to different waiters before finally receiving a jug of water.
We tried chicken tikka which tasted like the ones you buy from a cheap supermarket, definitely not fresh, disappointing for quadruple the supermarket price.
The white fish tasted like it was refried.
The waiter cleared our used starter plates, stacked them up and was then told by another waiter we had to reuse our plates so he proceeded to put them back on in front of us. This was obviously quite off putting. Luckily when we requested clean plates these were provided.
It is overpriced for the quality of food it serves. The vegetarian dishes we tried were Tarka dal and Palak Paneer. The tarka dal was reasonable but the palak paneer was very bland.
The ambience was good but the food was not and I was very disappointed.
The decor definitely needs updating as does the restaurant's attitude towards their food, fresh it certainly wasn't!.
