A review of The Orange Shop by JANNA written on Friday 23rd of January 2009
Orange Customer Services Freephone No. for Contract customers - 0800 079 1050 - A huge thank you to Tango Man for sharing that number. I am a Pay As You Go customer so that was the wrong number for me, but they were only too happy to give me the Freephone No. for the Pay As You Go department - 0800 079 0006.
I had purchased a new phone from the Salisbury Orange shop on the morning of Thursday 22nd January and had been told by the salesman that all my SIM details had been transferred from the old phone and Orange would notify me by text as soon as the new one was registered. It would be within 24 hours. If I didn't hear within that time I was to ring the shop as it meant something had gone wrong.
When nothing had happened by 11am on Friday 23rd I rang the store as reqested, an 0870 number, and became increasingly frustrated as the recorded message constantly told me they were all to busy to come to the phone. Of course, every time I rang I was paying to hear that message.
Once I found Tango Man's Freephone advice I was able to tackle the problem at no extra cost to me - it took almost 30 minutes for them to sort out what the salesman HADN'T done so would have cost me quite a few pennies on an 0870 number.
Thank you again Tango Man - definitely a number to keep..
