A review of Cult Clothing by Mole written on Monday 7th of July 2003
Point number 1: I find places like Cult very offputting when the staff 'guard' the entrance and try to make eye contact to greet you.
I like to float in and out of shops, practially unnoticed, without interruptions from salespeople, and without being implicated in petty smalltalk.
I'd much rather people I don't know don't offer me superficial greetings or wish me 'Have a nice day' after making a purchase.
Point number 2: The music in Cult clothing is too loud and hard, and seems to make the staff overexcited and try to act cool. That's not the kind of experience a customer wants when shopping. We want to feel relaxed, with passive staff who are there to help.
Other than these criticisms, I will add that the standard of clothing is very good. Well made original clothing which totally puts to shame the dozens of boring, unstylish highstreet clothes shops in Cambridge i.e. Burton, Top man, Debenhams etc. What a load of crap..
