A review of Derby Store by John written on Wednesday 31st of December 2008
Kosher food is tricky to find in Cambridge, so we visited Derby Stores 30.12.08 after finding them listed on this site. The shop is easy to get to, though parking for more than a few minutes would be a problem as it's in a residential area.
In addition to a fine selection of deli cheeses, the shop stocks a very good range of kosher products including hummus, gefilte fish, matzo meal, latkes and a number of different items. We also noticed Shabbat and Chanukah candles. I'm told they also sell Jewish bread products such as chollah and bagels, but they had none when we visited possibly due to it being the holiday season. They also have some Jewish nespapers, including the Jewish Chronicle and Essex Jewish News (which covers Cambridge). We would highly recommend Derby Stores to anyone looking for kosher food or non-kosher high quality deli fare. Friendly staff too!.
