"B+Q - the first and only place to shop"

I have a lot of sympathy for some of the staff at B+Q, especially, those on here, who have discussed the amount of abuse customers can pass onto sales team members. I have to say, everything said is true, I have witnessed horrific abuse in my own store, in awe that the customer in front of me can acuse, abuse and react in such a disgraceful manner. What I will say though, is that its not just B+Q, its everywhere, all Retail staff encounter this at times, and its not nice, but will naturally be part of the job at some time or other. THe best you can do in my opinion, is let it go, and move on to continuing with that excellent service,

Regarding the managers, having been a retail manager myself, I understand the stress they are under, and the different changing structures that massive retail companies make on a weekly and monthly basis, never giving any manager enough time to put structure into place in order to see true benefits for staff, store, and customer. Its life, its business, and the financial climate change will always effect this. Its not an easy job, and we're all only human, some days are bad, some months are bad, some managers do get battered so much they lose the will to fight, and this role is not for the feint hearted, but if Retail is your thing, then make sure youre strong minded, and go for it - a true challenge to make every day exceptional for service level, and general standards.

I know that my local B+Q excells at this everytime, and I will always make them my first and only place to shop for anything but clothing, I couldnt praise them enough, thankyou B+Q for trying so hard to keep your customers happy, and for changing with the times to keep on top of trends..
