A review of The Fort St George by Anon written on Tuesday 14th of October 2008
I used to work at the Fort St George and had a wonderful experience - it may have seemed poorly run at times but it was temporarily run by relief managers here and there and therefore impossible to be a smooth ride, and no one's fault but Greene King's. Props to the new manager, he's doing a terriffic job and things are running far more smoothly than they were before. It's a gorgeous little pub, done up nicely, a little pricey but worth it in my opinion if you've got the spare dosh!
..And in response to the person who was disappointed due to an "un-smiling barmaid", seriously, get a life!!! Bar staff aren't there to entertain you, they're there to serve you, not smiling doesn't mean a person isn't happy, I'd like to see you smile constantly through a 12 hour shift on minimum wage serving drunk customers!.
