A review of Sundaes by Diana Mcleery written on Friday 29th of August 2008
I was interested to discover the views of Helen M on the Sundaes store as I have felt similarly for some time that the atmosphere in both the Sundaes shop and their 'twin' shop Ecco has deteriorated over the last year or so. The colour has gone from both the outside of the shop literally, and inside metephorically. It has become very clinical (almost like a dentists waiting room) and the staff are generally very unfriendly. This is actually more noticeable in the Ecco shop however, where you are generally greeted with a grimace and treated with some disdain. I have visited other Ecco stores and have never felt this way and was surprised to hear they had won an award of some sort. It was a shock that this has happened as up until Christmas 2007 I found both shops to be very warm and inviting - so maybe the new management theory has some merit.
I hope things can soon change back to how they once were as I used to rather enjoy buying my shoes and sandals from these shops - now I am rather afraid to enter them at all..
