A review of Curry Queen by Arthur James written on Sunday 6th of July 2008
Never in my life have I ever tasted curry to the highest quality!
It was by chance i was in Cambridge in July 2008 and on Mill Road. I saw this discreet restaurant which just looked like a traditional curry house. and that is exactly what it was!
too many restaurants today are trying to cook a curry in a contemporary style, some calling it Indian Fusion and others calling it Contemporary Cuisine, regardless of what they are called nothing still beats a traditional Indian-Bengali Curry in a traditional old school restaurant.
I cant think of anyone who would like to go into an Indian for a curry where the waiters can speak the English language to such a high degree standard that it is better than yours, moreover a waiter mimicking what you are ordering when he takes your order with a worse pronouncing of Masalla than what you say.
The Curry Queen is a good as you can get Curry House which has everything you used to expect from a Curry House. The food was to the highest of standards and in most parts tasted better than what it did in India in the time of the British Empire.
It is cost effective and is thus very good for your money. The service most of all is SUPERB!
I am 70 years old and have lived in India for the first 20years of my life. The curry in the Curry Queen is to die for!.
