A review of Milton Road Primary School by Peter written on Friday 20th of June 2008
I enjoyed my time at Milton Road School 1949#1952.
Discipline was administered by Mr Varley and his whippy cane! We enjoyed the sports days down on the field. With Harry Payne and His starting pistol. We all had to drink little one third pint bottles of milk , And have a nap mid day on camp beds. We were not allowed to get too tired in those days. I remember all of us getting a Red Cross Parcel each. These came from Canada . Propably as we had a Canadian Teacher,. Mr Leach the Science Teacher was fun as was his Steam Boat and old Motor Cycle. We used to Flick our Dinky Toy Racing cars down the playground. Maseraties Coopers and Alfa Romeos. But we got repremanded for throwing ball races along and making them spark. I dont know where they came from!
All good fun I guess.... a long time ago....
