"This was no bouillabaisse !"

A review of Browns Restaurant by Penny de Lacey written on Monday 2nd of June 2008

I suppose we should have taken note of the title ' fish stew' suggesting unpretentious query homely soup.

Fish is delicate stuff and needs supporting with delicate liquor and flavours not drowning in half a tin of tomato puree and a few carrots. At £9 a bowl it was pretty appalling and if I wasn't taking a friend out to lunch I would have sent it back. the first time in my life I would have done so !.
