A review of Rainbow Café by Baffled written on Saturday 1st of March 2008
I had high hopes of a special meal in a lovely restaurant. What I got was a tiny, grotty cafe with staff who were totally disinterested in us. A man was sitting grating carrots, a woman (the owner I believe)was reading the newspaper and didn't even look up at us! We were left to find somewhere to sit and waited quite some time for a waitress, who was reasonably helpful, but we honestly felt very uncomfortable and had serious doubts about the food we would be given. The menu declared 'red hot chilli' but the waitress said in fact it was very mild. The food we finally got was nothing special at all, I could have cooked it up in ten minutes at home, it didn't taste or look worth the £8.95 and I wouldn't even consider going back again. What on earth did they get awards for????.
