A review of Adecco by Lynn written on Monday 28th of January 2008
I was looking for work in Autumn 2007. After going into a lot of agencies in the Town Centre, I got really disheartened. All the other agencies only seemed to be interested in placing me in jobs they already had. I'm a Sales Manager but the consultants at the other agencies were offering me jobs like catering, waitressing etc. It seemed like they thought that because I'm out of work, I'd accept any old rubbish!
By the time I'd left most agencies that day, I was really upset that noone seemed to be actually interested in me.
I was looking in the window at Adecco to see if they had any jobs. After a minute or so, the manager came out and invited me in for a chat, saying she could see I was looking for a job and I looked cold so would I like to come in and chat about what I WANTED so they could see if they could help.
After I went in, I sat and talked with the manager Sarah for a couple of minutes so she could get an idea about my needs. Then after she ascertained what I wanted, she took me over and personally introduced me to one of the Consultants who then proceeded to find out all about me. She only then suggested a couple of jobs she already had on and asked me more about the types of companies I'd like to work for. She registered me then and there and then rang the two companies she was recruting for to get me an interview - one wanted to see me the next day, the other wanted my Cv first.
Then we talked about other companies and she came up with about 6 companies she would talk to on my behalf even though she didn't have any actual jobs on with them that week.
We arranged to meet again the next day befor my interview so she could prep me more.
When I went in the next day, I was greeted by everyone when I came in. Then I sat with the Consultant and we talked more about the interview and she got me ready and made me feel very confident. She also said she had spoken to 4 other companies about me and had secured me a couple more interviews that week.
After all, I got 4 interiews through Adecco and 2 offers of jobs and I took one which was the perfect job for me!
I was very very impressed with Adecco from the moment I walked into their office. Since I started the new job, they have been in regular contact to see how I'm getting on and have sent me good luck card, a christmas card and taken me out for a drink at lunch time when they popped in one day as a surprise.
Adecco were far and away the best agency in town, and I know because I went into most of them and got turned away!.
