A review of HFC Bank by James Love written on Monday 28th of January 2008
After Buying a TV on a 6 months interest free option from Comet I tried to settle the outstanding debt with the credit company HFC Bank. Not only did I recieve two letters after using their automated telephone system, but, they were for TWO differing amounts with TWO different settlement dates.
I tried to pay by online banking but my own bank could not fined details to complete the transaction. I tried calling their automated telephone system. After waiting to be put through to a human operator each time the Call Centre respondant could not hear me?
I finally went through my own Bank using the CHAPS payment system to pay an instant cleared payment. Considering the details of to whom the payment was to be made was made difficult by the lack of detail from HFC, but my own Bank thought it best to credit my HFC account with the payment. It cost £30, but at least I have an official record of payment well before the "10 day" clearing time it takes them to process cheques..
