A review of Thomson Reuters by Iceni Queen written on Monday 15th of October 2007

I'm sure it's not an ethical decision by the university as they have allowed Gap and Topshop who use sweatshops in the manufacture of their garnments, paying workers on average 22-40 pence an hour. Primark claim they do not endorse such practices, instead they keep their prices to a minimum by using cheaper materials.

The powers that be who run Cambridge (imagine the mafia in sensible shoes riding a bike) should realise that the reputation of their university is not a priority over the needs of the 'civilians' who happen to live here but have nothing to do with the university. Oxford has a Primark and the reputation of that university town remains intact. Cambridge seems to want a time warp wherein the grateful working classes doff their hats to the over priviledged. My question is, if it's a matter of preserving an upmarket image why are there so many identical mobile phone shops and 'turf accountants' here? Doesn't scream class, does it?.
