A review of University Arms Hotel by Roy written on Friday 21st of September 2007
We booked into this hotel to celebrate our 15th Wedding Anniversary and were not disappointed. The welcome was excellent (including a complimentary bottle of Champagne) and everything about our room met (and in many cases exceeded) our expectations. Our first reaction on seeing it across Parker's Piece was 'Wow. We chose the 'standard King' - massive bed but still plenty of space in the room.
The only thing that did detract from a fantastic experience was the noise - at the back of the hotel is a wonderful area of grass called Parker's Piece. Unfortunately Cambridge folk seem to think it's a good idea to stand right outside the hotel and have loud conversations - even at 3 or 4 o'clock in the morning!! They could walk across the grass a bit but it's much more fun to keep people awake apparently! This did lead to a few disturbed night's sleep. Double glazing might help??.
