A review of Thomson Reuters by Elsie Tanner written on Wednesday 11th of July 2007
No Primark in Cambridge possibly due to the university controlling what and who goes on their land, if you present the wrong image they'll yell 'get off my land' like a fat ol' farmer! They can't possibly base their decision on ethics as they have both a Gap and a Topshop on their land, both companies are know to use sweat shops (not to be mistaken for sweet shops!)in the production of their merchandise. Apparently this is why Woolworths was given the heave-ho, it was frequented by awful working class ruffians in the opinion of the university, so bye bye Woollies, hello to the cities 2nd dreary awful Next. Why are all the shops in Cambridge duplicated? Exactly the same shops are in the city centre and the Grafton Centre. Oxford doesn't seem to have this image crisis, there's a far better variety of shops and services there and I'm led to believe their academic reputation remains intact! I believe that the powers that be in Cambridge begrudge any shop or service not squareley aimed at them but aimed at persons on a budget who were no born with a silver spoon wedged firmly twixt their lips! Us Cambridge povs should revolt and demand a Primark, Peacocks, Ethel Austin, Matalan and MK one. Oh yeah, and some affordable housing. .
