A review of B & Q by R Conners written on Friday 18th of May 2007
B@Q are good suppliers of the large expensive equipment but are shockers regarding the individual bits which are required to service the machine. they are also unable to offer service for parts which are of low cost but are very inportant to the customer.
I have tried on three seperate occasions to purchase items which I thought any self respecting organisation would stock. Alas, I went to the small shops and purchased the items at sensible prices.
B@Q does not appear to sell the following items:
1) Sandpaper which is cost effective. They stocked the 3I paper which sold at £3.50 for 4 sheets. I purchased 10 sheets for £1.00.
2) tried to buy the strimmer accessories for my Flymo purchased at B@Q. Alas, they sell the Flymo but not the strimmers. Purchased on-line and could have also purchased the Flymo at much better price.
3) standard lamps for my B@Q kitchen. Again, dont stock a 6watt 2700k lamp. Purchased at a specialist shop from stock.
My worry is: when you want to keep your machine on the road or purchase standard small items, dont think B@Q will have them. When we see all these small specialist shops closed, we really are in trouble. .
