A review of The Old Spring by Steve Little written on Tuesday 7th of November 2006
The Old Spring was a place of fond memories for me. On my first visit to the UK, which all started in Cambridge due to the July airshow at Duxford, I walked right into the Old Spring as my eating and drinking spot from my B&B.
I found the Pub clean, pleasant in decor and the staff was very friendly. Of course like so many places, it takes a few meetings to get people to open up. The whole staff was youthful and gracious. That is coming from a 46 year old salt.
The food was wonderful and the beer excellent. I shall always remember and miss the English Pub and the English Beer, thanks in large part to my experiences at The Old Spring. Hope to visit again one day.
And I meet a really nice bloke named Michael. Michael is a regular and we enjoyed watching the World Cup with the rest of the pub in July. Cheers mate!
A class act all the way around. The manager is an excellent host. I enthusiastically endorse visiting the Old Spring while in Cambridge..
