A review of Varsity Restaurant by Sue written on Sunday 15th of October 2006
We dropped our daughter & her friend at the Corn Exchange for a gig.Our plan was to go to the cinema then a quick meal before picking them up later in the evening. The cinema had changed the times of the film we wanted to see, we were too late the film had already started. We walked back looking for a nice restaurant. After passing one or two that didn't appeal we came accross The Varsity. It was 8 o'clock the place looked busy, a good sign. We had to wait
5 minutes for a table. It was worth the wait, the menu extensive, the food fantastic, the recommended wine superb, the service outstanding. The feel of the restaurant was friendly and relaxed. The lamb kebabs were melt in the mouth. The waitress was even happy to change the accompaning dish to suit my taste.Wot a great way to spend an evening. We can't wait to go back to Cambridge & revisit The Varsity. .
