A review of Peking Restaurant by Tom Williams written on Friday 2nd of June 2006
If you're looking for a portion of special fried rice in a plastic tray, you're in the wrong place. The Peking is a proper restaurant, and once you realise that the prices don't seem anywhere near as expensive as they might at first glance. Four of us ate a very good and very large meal here for £20 a head, which is no more than one would pay in Browns or Chez Gerard for less interesting food in a far less interesting setting. Having the philosophy behind the dishes explained to us as they were served and being given recommendations on particular types of tea... it may sound silly but it does add to the experience..
